EcoOla was formed through the coming together of farmers and entrepreneurs with the common goal of establishing a successful green business. The seeds of this venture were sown following a field trip to Germany in 2002, where members of the group first came across the idea of producing a vehicle propellant – biodiesel- from vegetable oil.
The principal drivers for the project were
- Agri-business – to produce a non-food crop profitability.
- Engineering challenge – to manufacture (bio) diesel.
- Environmental benefits – sustainably produced biodiesel has genuine environmental benefits
In recent years there has been a growing awareness and acceptance of the phenomenon of Global Warming. Participation in EcoOla allows us to contribute, enabling us to play our part in solution to this universal problem. |
